Frank A Edwards - Way Out There Some How

I sit on a cold bench
Under a lonely tree
And daze at snow flakes
Falling in between.

I sit and wait for a lady
To come by with a smile
So I may take her on
And talk for a while

I'd take a firm stand
To take her cold hands
So hand in hand they keep warm
If we walk this land way out there some how.

We'll see the snow cover
The whole darn ground
And walk on foot prints
If any are around.

We'll say high to some people
And kiss cheek to cheek

We'll hear the song birds tweet
As we retreat back to where we met
And make that lonely tree
Our little love nest way out there some how.

Well I broke out of this daze
And what do you know
I sit alone feeling cold under
This lonely tree covered with snow.

If that bench weren't there
Then where will I be now
I'd be leaning on a lonely tree
Waiting for a lady to be with me way out there some how
